The New Release of Dong Shan Raw Pu-erh Tea 2023 and Jasmine Silver Needle

[2024.12.27] Posted By

We have released Dong Shan Raw Pu-erh Tea 2023 and Jasmine Silver Needle.

Dong Shan Raw Pu-erh Tea 2023

We have released Dong Shan Raw Pu-erh Tea 2023. This tea has been one of our most popular offerings, but it has not been stocked since 2017, a long-awaited addition to our collection.

Harvested from a pesticide-free, fertilizer-free tea garden in Zhenkang County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, at an altitude of 2,100 to 2,200 meters, Dong Shan Raw Pu-erh Tea comes from trees over 100 years old. It stands out for its smooth taste and clean, transparent aroma, making it a truly exceptional tea.

Dong Shan Raw Pu-erh Tea, cultivated in a high-altitude tea garden using natural methods, is both reasonably priced and approachable. Its clarity and lingering finish, hallmarks of naturally grown tea, make it an excellent choice for daily enjoyment or for those new to raw pu-erh tea. Aged for one year, it achieves a harmonious balance between the freshness of new tea and a subtle hint of aged aroma. Furthermore, one of its appealing characteristics is its ability to develop a fruity, grape-like aroma after several years of anaerobic storage and aging, which adds to its enduring popularity.

Jasmine Silver Needle

Jasmine Silver Needle has been one of our most popular teas, though it has been sold out for a long time. This rare jasmine tea is made using Gushu Yinzhen white tea as its base.

The Gushu Yinzhen used here is harvested from pesticide-free, fertilizer-free tea gardens. Without fertilizers, the tea leaves grow slowly, resulting in dense, small cells. This gives the tea a remarkably long finish.

Unlike Silver Needle, which is made solely from buds, Gushu Yinzhen used for Jasmine Silver Needle includes buds with stems, improving harvesting efficiency. In addition, stems are rich in calcium, contributing to a fuller body in the silver needle with stems. However, compared to leafy tea, the process remains inefficient, making it challenging to source consistently.

When we first introduced this tea, jasmine teas using white tea as a base were almost unheard of. Though they are becoming more common now, Jasmine Silver Needle remains a rare find.

Jasmine Silver Needle can be enjoyed with hot water, but it also brews wonderfully as a cold infusion, offering a refreshing experience.
